Séminaire AROBAS – Offshore Monitoring by Deploying Autonomous Vehicles
Mahdi MOEINI, MCF ENSIIE (Évry).
Abstract
The talk will begin with an overview of my academic background and research activities, followed by a brief presentation of one of our recently completed research projects. More specifically, we introduce the multi-visit multi-drone Vehicle Routing Problem (m2VRP) and formulate it as a Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model. Given a depot, a set of main vehicles, and a fleet of identical autonomous assistant vehicles (e.g., drones), the m2VRP aims to determine routes for the entire fleet such that a given set of locations is visited exactly once while minimizing the overall mission time. Due to the computational challenges associated with solving the m2VRP, we suggest a matheuristic approach. Numerical experiments on benchmark instances demonstrate that the proposed algorithm produces near-optimal solutions within reasonable computation time. The talk will conclude with a discussion of future research directions and potential opportunities for scientific collaboration on various applications of optimization and operations research.
